Sharing the joy of reading
Every time you purchase a Librio book, we share the joy of reading by donating to our charity partner, Room to Read.
Room to Read is a global organisation transforming the lives of millions of children across low-income communities by unlocking their full potential through education.
Our donations help provide books to children in these communities so that your purchase doesn’t just make your own little one happy, but helps create a fairer society across the globe.
Our impact so far
We chose Room to Read as our charity partner because they provide books to children as part of award-winning government-level literacy programmes.
Our donations help supply books to school libraries built by Room to Read in collaboration with local communities. To engender a greater enthusiasm for reading and because many cultures have little or no children’s book culture, Room to Read works with local artists to publish the vast majority of these books themselves.
We’re incredibly proud to have donated over 365,000 books to Room to Read’s libraries, with hopefully many more to come.
Librio in Cambodia
In 2019, four members of Librio were lucky enough to spend a week in Cambodia visiting schools taking part in Room to Read’s programmes.
Seeing the impact of our donations was an incredible experience, one that left us more convinced than ever that Room to Read was an incredible organisation to partner with and a perfect fit for our social commitments.

Welcome to School: Our collaboration with Room to Read
In 2020, we were lucky enough to work Room to Read to create a personalized picture book highlighting their work and celebrating the wonderful diversity of the children they support.
In the book, six children from around the world give readers tips on how to be brave at the start of a new school year. Their journey takes them to Nepal, India, Jordan, South Africa, Vietnam and Honduras, with each country illustrated by a local Room to Read artist.
As this book is a collaboration with Room to Read, we double our per-book donations for every copy of Welcome to School sold.
